How many cover pictures are available in the Full Pro Version

There are currently 146 front cover pictures available in the Full Pro version (150 in North American versions). More will be added in future releases.

Why do I still have the old version

To automatically get any updates to the CGreetings app you must have your Microsoft Store set to do automatic updates.

For Windows 10 open the Store and select the account menu (next to the search box), then select Settings. Under 'App updates' set 'Update apps automatically' to Yes.

For Windows 8 and 8.1 users open the Store and Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings. (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Settings.) Tap or click 'App updates'. Make sure 'Automatically update my apps' is set to Yes.

The latest Windows 10 version is only available for users with the latest release of Windows 10 (Version 1607, Build 14393 or above). If you are not yet on this build go into Settings, Update and Security and click the 'Check for updates' button.

To check what version of the App you are running, see the About screen. Version 3 and above is only available to the latest Windows 10 users.

What categories are available in the Full Pro Version

In adition to the main Anniversary/Valentine, Birthday and Christmas sections there are cards in the 'Other section' for Births, Bon Voyage, Congratulations, Easter, Fathers day, Graduation, Mothers day, Holidays, New Job, Sympathy, Thankyou and Wedding. There are also Thanksgiving cards in the North American versions.

Do I need to stick to the in-built categories

No. As many of the covers have no words already added you can add your own Greeting Text to make them appropriate to a different category. For example if you choose an Anniversary category cover picture you can change this into a Valentine card by adding 'Be My Valentine' as the Greeting Text. Another example is a Fathers day card could easily be changed into a card for your fathers birthday.

When doing this you will need to change the category on the Verse page and choose a verse appropriate to the category you want the card to be or add your own verse.

Why doesn't the 'Suggest Verse' button display

This option is only displayed on the Verse page if A) A front cover picture has been selected. B) It is an in-built picture (i.e. not one of your own). C) The category selected is the same category that the cover picture was selected from.

There are a few cards that do not have suggested verses (e.g the Holiday card covers). These will be added in a later release.

Why can't I scroll some front covers

Front cover pictures only scroll vertically or horizontally if the picture is not the same aspect ratio as the chosen paper size. The vast majority of the in-built cards (currently only the flag cover in the Full pro version is non scrollable) are scrollable but some of your own pictures may be the same aspect ratio.

If a card in non scrollable no scroll icon displays in the middle of the card cover. If the message 'Picture on page can be dragged left and right slightly' or 'Picture on page can be dragged up and down slightly' displays under the card picture this means the selected picture is very close to being the same aspect ratio of the paper and so will only scroll a small amount.

Can I delete verses

In the Windows 10 version (Version 3.6.0 and above), verses created or modified by the user can be deleted (Full Pro Version).

For Windows 8 and 8.1 versions you can remove all of your own verses by resetting the app back to defaults. To do this open the Settings charm and choose 'CGreetings Settings' then tap the 'Reset back to defaults' button. Note this will also remove any other settings that you have changed (i.e. saved cards, paper size and margins).

Will there be a Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 version

A specific Windows 8.1 release was launched on the 16th of November 2013 (Version 2.1.0), this version will also run on Windows 10. The current Windows 8.1 version contains the following enhancements that are not in the Windows 8 version:

  1. Ability to share cards via email.
  2. Ability to share cards via Facebook.
  3. Better ability to resize to the Windows 8.1 / 10 scaling model.
  4. Category selector made available on narrow view by converting into a button with popup menu options.

Although the current version works very well under Windows 10 a specific Windows 10 version was released in December 2016. This includes a refreshed look an feel more in keeping with Windows 10, an improved and simplified Signature functionality (Full Pro version only) and the addition of a slider control to choose age on the birthday badge functionality.

All future enhancements will be made to the Windows 10 version. Only major bug fixes will still be made to the Windows 8 and 8.1 versions. Note: Windows 8.1 is available from the Windows store and is free of charge for all Windows 8 users. See here for why and how. For best results in the future it is adviseable to upgrade to Windows 10. See here for details.

How do I set up a payment method to buy the Full Pro Version

If you have not purchased any item via the Windows Store before you will need to set up a payment method before purchasing the upgrade. To do this open 'Windows Store' then Windows 8 and 8.1: go via the 'Setting' charm to 'Your Account' and complete the 'Billing and payment info'. On Windows 10: Open the Windows Store and click the Your account icon (To left of search box), select Billing and payment option and complete the required payment details.

See Store Payment for full details. After setting this up you can return to the CGreetings app and purchase the 'Full Pro Upgrade'.

Where can I get suitable envelopes
